Guest post from CLMA students!

SHELLEY AND SUZIE’S WEEK 2 BLOG

- Week two
This week was filled with techniques and colour and a very special host of guest tutors!

This week we were lucky enough to have the fabulous Lizzie Court teaching us Smokey eyes with a flash of colour.

"Really enjoyed Smokey eyes today, this is something I love the look of. The technique of the Smokey eye is all about building colour and not to go straight into putting a lot of shadow on at first as it is harder to remove than it is to add more. "Build & Blend" is the way forward."

For two days we had the pleasure of being taught by Kevin Fortune, from the moment he arrived held all our attention with such enthusiasm!

Kevin demonstrated the art of applying make up with 'fingers'. This look started with the usual prepping of the skin, but moved on to using fingers to apply all aspects of the make up. The end product was a 'Smokey eye'.

"Wow, what an interesting man, I could of sat and listened to him all day. Kevin was so passionate about make up he made me so excited for the day ahead. Kevin taught us how to apply makeup without using any brushes at all; the thought of this scared me if I'm honest. Fantastic how only your fingers can make such a beautiful makeup."

To round off our second week at the academy, we had the lovely Danni who works with the MAC team. First we focused on the application of 1990's style make up- A very matt and bronzed look with overdrawn lips. After doing this plain but effective make up, we then moved onto the 80’s for our final day this week. For some of the more mature students the look was a memorable one, for the younger students, it was more a decade of make up that they were pleased to not have been a part of, with lots of bright colours worn on the eyes, cheeks and lips, often all at the same time!!

Here is my first practice at the 'finger' applied make up!
