You can use a primer, moisturise well but really you need to choose a long stay base that is the right texture for your skin and without seeing you I can't advise you.
I have just started using the double wear foundation and concealers though and they are fantastic at staying where they should for a long period of time. They also come in cool, warm and neutral tones so there is a colour to suit everyone.
Apply with a brush for the best finish and avoid powder as it may become to heavy. If you have dry skin I would make sure you are well exfoliated but they can pretty much be used by all.
